Spanish Town woman charged for making false shooting report against boyfriend

A 20-year-old Spanish Town, St Catherine, woman who retracted a police report that her boyfriend fired shots at her following a disagreement has been charged with creating public mischief.
She is Tasheke Grant, a hairdresser of a Beacon Hill address.
The police report that Grant went to the Spanish Town Police Station in St Catherine and made a report that there was a dispute between her and her boyfriend and that he fired shots at her following a disagreement.
The police say she gave a written statement on the alleged incident and an investigation was launched, which led to the man’s arrest.
On Tuesday, September 8, the woman returned to the station and gave a written statement to the police that she had lied in her initial report, the police reported.
She was subsequently arrested and charged.
A court date is being finalised.
