Jamaican man, ex-wife found dead in Georgia apartment

The police in Georgia in the United States are investigating the deaths of a Jamaican man, who is a former Jamaica Defence Force soldier, and his ex-wife, who were found dead inside an apartment on Monday.

The Glynn County Police Department said the incident appears to have been domestic in nature.

The deceased have been identified as Leon Anthony Myers and Celeste Cyan Morgan, both 25, who were previously married.

The police department said Morgan was the primary resident of the apartment.

Myers is originally from Brandon Hill on the St Andrew/St Mary border.

According to the department, officers were conducting a check at the Camelia Apartments on Altama Avenue just after 4:00 p.m. Monday when they found "exigent circumstances" that prompted them to enter the apartment.

Once inside, officers found the two dead.

"The deceased were previously married to each other, and the incident appears to have been domestic in nature," the department said.

"Glynn County police believe there is no threat to residents of the Camelia Apartments or the surrounding area."

Their causes of death have not been officially determined, as autopsies are being conducted.
