Two inmates charged with murder over fatal dispute at Tower Street prison

Two inmates at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston have been charged with murder over the death of a fellow inmate during an altercation.
Charged are 22-year-old Carlton Thompson and 46-year-old Paul Williams.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old David Johnson.
The police report that about 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, Thompson and Williams became involved in an altercation with Johnson.
During the dispute, Johnson was allegedly attacked and assaulted by the two men.
On Friday, June 19, Johnson, who had sustained multiple injuries, was taken to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The police say a post-mortem later revealed that he died from multiple instances of blunt force trauma.
Following investigations into the incident, Thompson and Williams were charged with murder.
A court date is being finalised.
