“ The sun and moon grew dark, and the stars no longer shine … Then the LORD will pity His people and be zealous for the honour of His land. He will reply, ‘I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully. Never again will I make you an object of scorn among the nations.’” (Joel 2:10, 18-19)

God’s mercy and grace will locate you today! What you are about to read is a declarative and prophetic message rather than an expository one. God’s Word never fails. There are many people who need to hear this message because they are in darkness, struggling through sleepless nights, pain, regret, rejection and humiliation. They lack the grace and refreshment that come from the presence of God. If you are among them, this is your opportunity for restoration. I pray that, as you read, the light of God will shine upon you again, in Jesus’ name.

Consider the image of the sun and moon growing dark and the stars no longer shining. These are elements that were created to give light and blessing, yet they have become dim. This reflects what some people are experiencing today. Their once-bright light has faded, and they may not even understand how they reached such a difficult place or how to escape it. The situation appears hopeless.

The sun can represent our day, the moon our night, and the stars our destiny. In Genesis, God established the sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night. The Psalmist also declared that “the sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night”. The stars likewise symbolise purpose and destiny. We see this in the star that guided the wise men to Jesus and in Joseph’s dream in which the stars bowed before him. Job even referred to constellations such as Orion and the Pleiades.

These heavenly bodies remind us of God’s divine order and influence. When a person’s spiritual light grows dim, the consequences can be painful. Therefore, we should continually pray that our sun, moon and stars keep shining. We should ask God to bless our days, our nights and our destinies. This does not mean worshipping these created things. That would be a grave mistake. We worship only God Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

There are several factors that can cause a person’s light to fade. These include attacks from the enemy, sin, disobedience and ignorance. Ignorance refers to not knowing what God has provided for us or how to access His promises. Scripture teaches that the entrance of God’s Word brings light and understanding. When that understanding is applied, it produces deliverance, breakthroughs, miracles, prosperity and godliness.

Sin also hinders spiritual progress. A life lived contrary to God’s will cannot fully reflect His light. As for the enemy’s attacks, we must resist them through prayer and faith. Whatever has caused your sun, moon and stars to stop shining must be removed today in the mighty name of Jesus.

Grain, Wine and Oil

As you read this message, believe that restoration has already begun in your life. God’s face will shine upon you again. Like the star that announced Jesus’ birth, your destiny will rise and attract favour. Help will come from unexpected places, like the wise men who came from the East. Believers will come. Unbelievers will come. Even those who once opposed you may be moved to bless you because of God’s favour upon your life.

God promises restoration and abundance. As Joel declared, “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully.” These three gifts represent different aspects of God’s blessing.

Grain symbolises provision and nourishment. You will have enough to eat and enough to share with others. God will bless the work of your hands and meet your needs abundantly.

Wine represents joy, celebration and gladness. Many people have endured long seasons of sorrow, disappointment and tears. Some families have forgotten what it feels like to celebrate. Yet, God is able to turn mourning into rejoicing. From today, I pray that celebration will enter your life, in the name of Jesus.

Oil represents the presence of God, His anointing and grace. It is the divine enablement that helps us fulfil His purpose. Any area of your life that has been restricted or held down is being touched by God’s power today. I pray that His grace will flow afresh in your life and that your sun, moon and stars will begin to shine once again.

May God restore your joy, renew your strength, increase your provision and fill you with His presence. May your days be blessed, your nights be peaceful, and your destiny shine brightly. God bless you. Please share this message with others.
