Hi, boys and girls!
Have you ever stopped to think about where the food on your plate comes from? Before that banana becomes your snack or that breadfruit reaches the dinner table, there’s a whole journey happening — and today, Madison and Kaylie are heading straight to the source!
Join them at JP Farms, where they’ll explore the farm, discover how some of our produce is grown, and meet some of the hardworking people who help get food from the field to our tables. Along the way, you’ll also learn more about some of the fruits and crops grown right here in Jamaica and why farming is so important.
Keep your Children’s Own page close and tune in to Children’s Own Watch & Win on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. on TVJ. Follow the adventure, then dig into the activities on this page as we discover just how much happens before our food reaches us.
Grab your hat and get ready — we’re heading to the farm!

1. Growing – Bananas grow on plants on the farm.
2. Harvesting – Farm workers carefully harvest the bananas when they are ready.
3. Preparing and Packing – The bananas are checked, prepared and packed for their journey.
4. Transporting – The packed bananas are transported from the farm to where they will be sold.
5. Eating – The bananas finally make it to you, ready to be enjoyed!

How well do you know some of the fruits grown right here in Jamaica?
Read each clue carefully and figure out which fruit it describes. Then, look at the fruits on the other side and write the correct letter (A–F) in the empty circle beside each clue.
Can you match all six correctly?
