Operations at Spanish Town Hospital in St Catherine were disrupted Thursday after a reported “bomb threat,” according to the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA).
“The St Catherine North Police, along with other relevant emergency responders, are on site conducting thorough security checks and assessments,” SERHA said in a statement.
The authority added that the hospital’s management team is working closely with responders to ensure a secure environment, with patients, staff and visitors advised to follow official instructions.
SERHA said further updates would be provided as the situation develops.
SERHA is the arm of the health minitry responsible for the delivery of health care services to residents of St Catherine, St Thomas, Kingston and St Andrew.
