The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising customers served by the Constant Spring system in Kingston and St Andrew (KSA) that water supply restrictions have been relaxed effective today.

It says this follows improved inflows to the Hermitage Dam after recent rainfall, with storage levels rising from below 65 per cent to approximately 91.3 per cent.

Acting Vice President for Operations, Herman Fagan, says the move represents the Commission’s commitment to ease restrictions once conditions improve.

The NWC says it will, for the foreseeable period, resume 24-hour supply from the Constant Spring system.

Customers are encouraged to allow time for system recharge, especially in higher elevations, and to continue conserving water and repairing leaks.

The Commission says it will continue to monitor dam levels and may reintroduce measures if conditions change.
