Interim head coach of Jamaica’s senior men’s football team, Rudolph Speid, has named six newcomers in the Reggae Boyz squad for this month’s Unity Cup tournament in London.

The Reggae Boyz will be without several key members of the squad, including captain Andre Blake, Leon Bailey, Ethan Pinnock, Richard King, and Kasey Palmer, as the competition falls outside the FIFA international window and several remain committed to their clubs.

However, there is a recall for Kahiem Dixon, who returns to the national set-up after missing the team’s last outing in the FIFA Continental Confederation play-offs tournament in March.

Among the six newcomers included in the squad is highly rated 16-year-old Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri, the younger brother of Bailey Cadamarteri. The teenager joined Manchester City from Sheffield United last year in a reported £1.5-million move.

The other new faces named in the squad are Courtney Clarke, Odin Samuels-Smith, Marlon Van De Wetering, Nick Simmonds, and Dajaune Brown.

The squad will still feature a number of experienced players, including Damion Lowe, Isaac Hayden, Joel Latibeaudiere, and Dexter Lembikisa.

Also named in the squad are Joshua Grant, Coniah Boyce-Clarke, Jeovanni Laing, Christopher Ainsworth, Dwight Merrick, Nickyle Ellis, Brandon Cover, Tyrese Hall, Nickalia Fuller, Raheem Edwards, and Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri.

Jamaica will compete alongside defending champions Nigeria, India, and Zimbabwe in the four-team tournament, which will be played at The Valley in Charlton, southeast London.

The Reggae Boyz are scheduled to face India in one semi-final on May 27, while Nigeria will take on Zimbabwe on May 26. The final is set for May 30.
