Police probing death of man following house fire in Ewarton

The police are investigating the death of a man whose charred remains were found following a fire at his home in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Tuesday.

He has been identified as Wilson Thomas, a farmer.

The police report that about 4:00 p.m. on July 21, a fire was observed at a dwelling on Coghiel Road in Ewarton.

The fire department was contacted and a team responded.

During the cooling-down exercise, Thomas' body was discovered.

The scene was examined, and the body was removed to be pronounced dead and stored pending a post-mortem.

The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death of the man are being investigated.
