Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCCL) says cement supply has improved by more than 20 per cent in recent weeks following operational challenges caused by heavy rainfall in April.

Managing Director Jorge Martinez said the company has been maintaining a steady supply while implementing measures aimed at improving reliability and meeting strong market demand.

“Between April and May 2026, CCCL increased production by more than 50 per cent and customer dispatches by over 23 per cent, driving record sales of about 110,757 metric tonnes and surpassing the previous high of 108,500 metric tonnes set in March 2021 during COVID-19,” Martinez said in a media release on Wednesday.

He added that to support local demand, the company leveraged its Cemex network to import up to 23,852 metric tonnes of cement at the end of May, with additional shipments planned to reinforce supply and maintain market stability.

CCCL said it has also launched several strategic initiatives to strengthen operations and improve service delivery, including expanding warehouse capacity across Jamaica, prioritising the reliability of finished products, and adding equipment to increase production capacity.

The company also plans to collaborate with the Incorporated Master Builders’ Association to create a database for certain construction projects aimed at supporting planning and supply management.

Additionally, CCCL said it is strengthening customer communication efforts to provide more timely updates and support.

The company said it remains committed to Jamaica and to ensuring a reliable and sustainable cement supply to support the country’s development and growth.
