Toll collection across Jamaica’s major highways will resume at midnight on Monday, November 10, the Toll Authority has announced.
The Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport published the authority's update in an Instagram post on Sunday.
The suspension, first implemented ahead of Hurricane Melissa’s passage, had been extended to facilitate recovery and relief operations.
Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Westmoreland on October 28, devastating several western parishes and leaving more than 90,000 Jamaicans affected.
Jamaica’s two tolled highway networks are Highway 2000 East-West, managed by TransJamaican Highway Limited, and the North-South Highway, operated by the Jamaica North-South Highway Company Limited.
