Jamaican consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of the products they bring into their homes, creating growing demand for safer, environmentally responsible household essentials. However, according to Isla Verde Founder Christina Issa, one of the biggest misconceptions surrounding sustainable products is that they must come with an expensive price tag. As Isla Verde officially introduces its inaugural line of plant-based baby wipes and eco-conscious disinfecting wipes, the company is challenging that perception by making eco-friendly products more accessible and affordable for Jamaican families.

The launch reflects the company’s broader vision of ensuring families never have to choose between quality, affordability and sustainability. “Eco-friendly living should never be considered a luxury,” said Christina Issa, founder of Isla Verde. “At Isla Verde, we believe Jamaican families deserve products that are safe, effective and responsibly made without having to pay an unreasonable premium. Sustainability, quality and affordability can and should exist together.”

Issa noted that, as both a mother and entrepreneur, she understands the financial realities many households face. With competing priorities such as groceries, healthcare, transportation and education, families should not feel that making healthier, environmentally conscious choices is financially out of reach. Beyond introducing its first products, Isla Verde says its long-term vision is to build a portfolio of eco-conscious household and family essentials designed specifically for the Jamaican market.

Isla Verde hopes to redefine consumer expectations by demonstrating that responsible innovation can deliver products that are high-quality, accessible and fairly priced. It also believes businesses have an important role to play in protecting Jamaica’s natural environment by adopting more sustainable practices and encouraging consumers to make thoughtful purchasing decisions.

“Every business that embraces sustainability and every consumer who supports responsible innovation contributes to building a cleaner, healthier future,” Issa added. “Our ambition extends far beyond launching products. We want to inspire confidence that better choices for our families and the environment don’t have to come at a higher cost.”

Looking ahead, Isla Verde plans to continue expanding its product range while remaining committed to making sustainable living practical and attainable for more Jamaican households.

“Our hope is not only to build a trusted Jamaican brand, but also to encourage more entrepreneurs to prove that doing better for people and the planet can also be good business,” said Issa. “If we can help make eco-friendly living more accessible while inspiring greater appreciation for sustainability, then we will have achieved something far greater than launching a product line.”
