As summer approaches, Jamaican trailblazer Romae Gordon continues to push fashion boundaries in her latest editorial for Women’s Wear Daily (WWD). Gordon brings strength and elegance to a series of high-fashion looks, styled alongside a curated selection of ‘90s-inspired sunglasses.
All the major brands are represented, from Prada, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, and Gucci. Wearing slick leather jackets and high-collared dresses, the looks sit between Matrix-inspired edge and modern precision, all tailored for an editorial in one of fashion’s bibles, titled ‘Heavy Metal Eyewear Trend: From ‘90s-Inspired Shields to Sharp Rectangular Frames’. The story was shot in New York City by Vanessa Granda, styled by Alex Badia, with hair by Andrew Chen and make-up by Shaina Ehrlich.
“It was super easy to translate the vision for the creative team,” said Gordon. The looks are so me. I loved the movement, the edge, the sleekness of the direction throughout.”
Gordon, who came out of retirement last year, has heralded a shift in fashion with the world’s top brands booking her for their runway show and campaigns. Her return began with Versace in Milan for the Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2026 collections. But the industry took notice when Gordon stepped on the runway in an exclusive appearance for Mathieu Blazy’s couture debut in January 2026 and later in March 2026 for Proenza Schouler.
Shortly after her couture debut, models.com named Gordon ‘Model of the Moment’.
