Post offices to be upgraded to government service centres

I relish the day when Jamaicans don’t have to go to a post office to check for mails. Digitise the system or improve community infrastructures to facilitate mail delivery islandwide. - @Gamechngr2

Another repositioning of @JamaicaPost. It has got to be the needle of the compass. - @likle_wiked

And will Paymaster be doing any payment processing at the postal points islandwide, by chance? - @kullijhan

Just add a co-working space with access to WiFi, printing facilities and a cafe. - @IrishandChin

This is peak efficiency! The physical infrastructure is already there; the staff is already there; most of these facilities are located within communities, with easy public access. This is the kind of transformation we are talking about! May it be implemented successfully! - @Zemi66

Another place to transform is our public libraries islandwide. If the right minds come together on this one, the national public libraries can be the hub for some great things. - @iR_geMini876

Good. The government should also use it to build out a distribution business and get private business to use it to ship products across the country. So many small businesses can just have an online store and keep inventory at postal centres. Use it to ship products and store. - @YaadFinance

FINALLY! Post offices should be able to; 1. Submit and issue NIS cards, 2. Do PATH Registration, 3. Access government information and services. - @iamtowek

It would be nice if pensioners can drop off their life certificates there as well. - Sandra Burton-Campbell

For years I’ve been wondering about the effectiveness of the Post Office. - Gary Aaron Peart

Will the operating hours be adjusted for customer convenience? Will staff at each level be calibrated to provide pleasant and efficient client and employee experiences? Will this service be islandwide, even in very rural areas with existing PO buildings upgraded to include Amazon-type deliveries? - Marilyn Douglas-Jones

Thank God I’ve been waiting to hear this. The government could use it as a courier service which would bring about much-needed revenue. - Boyd A Clarke

Always years behind. Post offices all over the world are closing down because of digital era. Hopefully, this transition provides non-traditional services. - Michelle Burrell
