I had the opportunity to listen to the entire press conference. It is great that J$75 million more was added to the budget for education, with more funds given to special-needs schools. As a special-needs mother, let’s see how this plays out. ­– Keisha Haye

A 55 per cent average increase in funding for public schools is a significant investment in Jamaica’s education system. If managed transparently and effectively, giving school leaders greater flexibility can help address each school’s unique needs, improve teaching and learning, strengthen student support services, and enhance the overall learning environment. The key now is ensuring strong accountability so that every dollar delivers measurable improvements in educational outcomes for our children. – Isaac Onywere
