This is a prime example of how not to implement a fare increase. Who thinks it's wise to announce an increase to be effective the same day as the announcement? What's the utility of increasing the next phase one month later? The 16 per cent could have been announced for next month. - @dentona22

The two tranches implementation exposes the public to confusion [and] contention, sub average thinking. Should be 16 per cent July, one-month prep to recast budget. - @MarshallRusell

Government shouldn't be telling private business how much to charge, unu do that for the real estate industry? - @Bizkit68390579

Not sure why people always come out making a lot of noise about these small things when dem same one join line every Friday night and Saturday fi buy them favorite fast food or sea food crave and at the same time buy the most expensive hair, nails, liquor, shoe etc. Listen up mon, pay up or go buy unuh car yaa man. Unuh think gas cheap? Unuh think parts cheap? Just for the record, I'm not a taxi nor bus operator, just a talk the truth and mi know unuh a go hurt but face reality. - Marvin Blake's AC Blake

How can you have a fare increase the same day? Better you said Monday taxi fare will raise. - Maureen Williams

Me no know how poor people ago manage trust me. - Tajay Strongbody Francis

Oh so mi a go stop work and run taxi. - Michelle Campbell

Unuh try set the thing proper because is long time me paying $200 from New Kingston to Downtown. - Joan Austin

Pay need to be raised too. - Kiva Blackwood

If gas prices drop by the next three months and stabilize will the fares be dropped? - Rochelle Artwell

I can't understand. Gas raise, taxi n bus fare raise. Food prices raise. Yet our pay remains the same. How we fi survive? - Prince Invisble

Fares are relatively cheap in the country. We cannot have spiking oil prices and things remain the same. The taxi operators have families and other business to take care of too. We must be fair, if it's even once. - Mishell Bernard
