Women run the workforce, while men lead at the board level, VM Group data shows

Women account for nearly three-quarters of the workforce at VM Group – among the island’s oldest financial entities – but that ratio flips at the board level, according to the company’s 2025 annual report.
VM reported that women represented 72 per cent of employees and 52.8 per cent of senior leadership at year-end, reflecting the growing role of women across the organisation’s executive and operational ranks.
“The VM Group continues to prioritise diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee development as key components of its ESG strategy. The Group maintains a diverse workforce across all levels of the organisation, with females representing the majority of employees,” the company said in its annual report.
The disclosure comes against a backdrop of ongoing efforts globally to track women’s participation in leadership roles. In Jamaica, women continue to record strong educational outcomes and significant labour-force participation.
Despite their strong presence across management, board representation remains lower. Women occupied two of VM Group’s eight board seats during 2025.
The female directors are Sandra Shirley-Auxilly and Jeanne Robinson-Foster. The annual report highlights that women occupy several of VM’s influential leadership positions, overseeing legal affairs, risk management, strategy, sales, customer experience, pensions, property services, and philanthropy.
