A St Catherine man charged with allegedly stealing a car from a house in Portmore has been granted $1 million bail.
Shemar Griffiths is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
The bail application was made by attorney-at-law Francine Green in court on Tuesday.
In granting bail, Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle ordered Griffiths to surrender his travel documents and report to the Portmore Police Station.
He is to return to court on December 11.
Allegations are that about 4:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, the complainant parked her vehicle at home in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine, and woke up to find that her 2019 Nissan Sylphy motor car was missing.
A report was made to the Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch, and a probe was launched into the matter.
Griffiths was arrested and subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.
