UNITED States-bred WALL STREET TRADER yesterday pounced on an exhausted SHE’S THAT GIRL a half-furlong out to win the Vassell ‘Jolly Man’ Najair Memorial going away under a hand ride, completing a two-timer for four-pound claimer Jaheim Anderson on the nine-race card.

Stalking a hot pace set by SHE’S THAT GIRL chasing CALIFORNIA CROWN down the backstretch of the five-and-a-half-furlong event, WALL STREET TRADER improved into third in the stretch run, going past fellow American FIT TO FIRE, who had finished ahead of him when second to OF A REVOLUTION on September 26.

SHE’S THAT GIRL kicked clear of 3-5 favourite CALIFORNIA CROWN, hoping to steal home at odds of 8-1 with back-to-back reigning champion jockey Raddesh Roman but had no answer to WALL STREET TRADER’s smooth finish in mid-track, a two-and-three-quarter length win in a fast 1:06.0.

Anderson had earlier landed the sixth event with three-year-old maiden KAMIAK, closing back-to-back winners at five furlongs straight for Anthony Nunes, whose BROMPTON BOY won the fifth with Roman, allowing the champion jockey to claw a winner off leading rider Tevin Foster’s lead atop the standings.

Roman had opened the card with 2-5 favourite DRONE STRIKE, making all aboard the 2018 Jamaica Derby winner, beating optional $200,000 claimers at five and a half furlongs. Foster, who had raced 13 clear of Roman by booting home a three-timer on Saturday, won a stirring battle over his rival in the second event, rallying WAYNE’S PRINCESS past UNRULY DON at seven furlongs.

Starting this afternoon 12 winners clear of Roman, Foster has nine mounts on the 10-race programme, which features a Reggae 6 mandatory payout opening at $17.2 million, tipped to top $22 million.
